Lauren

I am finally up and running again. It seems like it took forever to get my computer working again. I am glad that everything is fixed now, thanks to my wonderful husband. 🙂

Meet Lauren! Lauren is a very sweet young lady. She contacted me a few weeks back wanting me to take her senior photos. We were trying to narrow down on a location. At first we were going to Lake Ray Hubbard, but we didn’t really find what she was looking for. Luckily, Lauren found a beautiful little park in Rockwall. So, I met with Lauren in Rockwall at Harry Myers Park. We met late in the afternoon and had some beautiful light for the photos. I hope that you enjoy this beautiful senior session. 🙂

Computer Problems

All of my photos are currently being held captive.  My hard drive is dead and I am waiting for the replacement to arrive in the mail. Thankfully I do have everything backed up. I am so glad that my husband is good at this stuff. I would probably go crazy if he wasn’t here.

My computer should be up and running by this weekend. So hopefully I will be able to post some more photos this weekend.

Have a wonderful week! 🙂

Harry Potter

Hello! It’s Monday and September is going by so fast. These past few months just seem like a blur to me. So I was trying to figure out what to blog about today and I realized that I never put my Harry Potter photo shoot on here. So, get ready. Just in case you don’t know, I love Harry Potter.

My good friend Joyce and I decided to have a Harry Potter themed shoot. I met Joyce back in April this year. I took her senior photos and we just clicked. A couple months after her senior photos we got together for these. I took some of her and then she got to hold the camera and take some of me. Oh, yeah, and there was this teenage boy on a bike who was calling us nerds the whole time.We had fun though.

🙂 I hope you enjoy! Have a wonderful Monday!!!!

Ok, just for fun. Here are some outtakes 🙂 This photo above was very difficult to get because I have a hard time being serious. So, there are several photos that are quite hilarious. 🙂

Canon <3

Ok, today I thought I would blog about some of the equipment I use and what my favorites are.

First of all, I am a Canon girl! I love Canon! I have been using Canon cameras since my first little point and shoot. I worked at a portrait studio for a short time while in college and they had a Nikon. I just didn’t like it.

I am going to start with my first professional camera. I started off with the Canon T1i and the kits lens.

Kit lens – 18-55mm This lens is a good starter lens, but once I started using better lenses I could tell a huge different in the picture quality!

My next lens purchase was the Canon 50mm 1.8. This is a wonderful lens for the price! The picture quality is great, but the focusing is not completely accurate. After continued professional use the AF gave out on me. So, I needed to upgrade my 50. That’s when this one came in.

This is my Sigma 50 1.4. Now, yes, this is not a Canon. There is a reason for that. I did a lot of research before upgrading my 50. Ideally I wanted the Canon 50 1.2 L lens. But, that was way out of my price range at the time. So I looked at the Canon 50 1.4 and the Sigma 50 1.4. The Canon version is a lot older and is outdated. I am sure it is still a good lens. But after extensive research and renting the Sigma I decided to go with it. And I couldn’t be happier. This is my favorite lens. I love my 50!!!

Ok, my 85mm!!!! The color from this lens is amazing. I love to use this lens! It is a great portrait lens.

This is the flash that I currently use. I would eventually like to upgrade this, but for now it works for what I need. This is the Canon 430 EXII

So, this is my transceiver! I wanted to be able to use my flash off of my camera so this is what I got. The Cactus is amazing. Most people use Pocket Wizards, but I was not wanting to spend that much yet to have my flash off my camera. So again, I researched a lot and found the Cactus. It is incredibly consistent. The only problem I have with it is that I forget to turn it off when I am done. So, the batteries are always dead when I go to use them. (But that’s a user error) 🙂

Here comes the beautiful 5D mark II

This is my new lens! This is the kit lens with the 5D mark II. Canon 24-105mm F4

Well, that’s it for now. As my business grows I will continue to get better equipment. 🙂 I want to thank my clients for allowing me to do what I love. Without you I would not be able to have this amazing equipment or get to do what I am passionate about!

Have a wonderful day!!
